Patra Pump House is a renovation project for the facade and landscape of a building that is dedicated to service functions. The primary objective is to enhance the building’s visual identity and environmental integration, while respecting its existing structure and operational purpose.
The proposed facade concept introduces a dynamic composition of multiple vertical panels designed to emulate the rhythmic motion of water waves. This design approach not only brings a sense of movement and fluidity but also draws inspiration from the elegant form of the Cupang Serit (Betta fish) and the Dendrobium orchid. These organic references are reinterpreted into a simplified and contemporary architectural language, creating a façade that is both expressive and refined. The vertical alignment of the panels reinforces a sense of height and lightness, contributing to a visually engaging and modern aesthetic.
Complementing the facade intervention, the landscape design integrates a thoughtful combination of green elements and hardscape features. A series of benches with vertical greenery are introduced along pedestrian pathways, offering shaded resting areas while softening the built environment with natural textures. The ground surface is articulated through a strategic mix of green open spaces and permeable paving blocks, which not only enhance the environmental sustainability of the site but also improve water infiltration and reduce heat retention.
